Quick Wrap: Nifty Energy Index declines 1.98%

Nifty Energy index ended down 1.98% at 12664.4 today. The index is up 6.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Reliance Industries Ltd slipped 6.19%, NTPC Ltd jumped 5.77% and Tata Power Company Ltd added 4.03%. The Nifty Energy index is down 17.00% over last one year compared to the 17.51% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index added 1.70% and Nifty Metal index increased 1.16% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.46% to close at 9196.55 while the SENSEX is down 0.60% to close at 31371.12 today.
