Utilties shares gain
Utilties stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Utilities index rising 12.84 points or 0.71% at 1814.08 at 09:49 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, BF Utilities Ltd (up 3.34%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 1.82%),PTC India Ltd (up 1.78%),GAIL (India) Ltd (up 1.5%),Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (up 1.11%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Torrent Power Ltd (up 1.04%), JSW Energy Ltd (up 0.96%), Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 0.91%), NTPC Ltd (up 0.81%), and CESC Ltd (up 0.35%).
On the other hand, KSK Energy Ventures Ltd (down 4.69%), Gujarat Industries Power Co Ltd (down 4.64%), and Reliance Power Ltd (down 3.13%) moved lower.
At 09:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 72.83 or 0.19% at 37568.44.
The Nifty 50 index was down 9.55 points or 0.09% at 11095.8.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 15.59 points or 0.12% at 12604.37.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 4.36 points or 0.1% at 4252.66.
On BSE,801 shares were trading in green, 643 were trading in red and 88 were unchanged.
