Abe leaves for US

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Tuesday left for the US to hold a two-day summit with US President Donald Trump.
During Abe's sixth face-to-face meeting with Trump to be held at the American leader's Florida resort, the Prime Minister said he was hoping to reinforce the Japan-US alliance, reports Xinhua news agency.
"We will affirm cooperation between Japan and the US and demonstrate the strong bond of the Japan-US alliance through the summit," Abe said before his departure.
Abe will also be looking to discuss issues pertaining to the Korean Peninsula, according to government sources here and is likely to discuss the importance of multilateral free trade deals as opposed to bilateral ones.
