Afghanistan's traditional Loya Jirga or grand assembly of tribal elders and notables approved a security accord known as the Bilateral Security Agreement with the US Sunday after four days of debates, deputy to the Jirga, Abdul Karim Aymaq, said.
"The second article of the resolution said that keeping in mind the security condition of Afghanistan and its need to the support of the international community, the Loya Jirga supports and approves the Bilateral Security Agreement with the US," Abdul Karim Aymaq said while reading out the resolution issued at the end of the Jirga.
The resolution wants the security agreement to be inked by the end of 2013, he added, reports Xinhua.
