Assam CM Gogoi accepts defeat

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi Friday said the Congress accepts the mandate of the people in the Lok Sabha election with "all humility".

As per initial trends in the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state, the BJP was leading in seven, the Congress and the AIUDF in three each, while an Independent candidate was leading in one seat.

"We are going to accept the mandate with all humility," Gogoi told media persons.
