Four militants killed in Afghanistan

Four militants were killed and another was injured when security forces stormed Taliban hideouts in the southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan, the provincial government said in a statement sent to media Monday.

"Since launching the operations in Takhtapol district Sunday, four armed insurgents have been killed and another injured," Xinhua reported citing the statement.

The security forces also seized a number of arms and ammunitions during the operations which go on to ensure the security in the region, it added.
