Three women mowed down in UP

Three woman standing on a roadside in Uttar Pradesh's Mau district were run over by a Scorpio vehicle on Tuesday, police said.

The incident happened near Surhurpur village. The speeding vehicle first hit the three and then skidded and fell into a ditch.

Angry locals stopped traffic on the road and set the vehicle involved in the accident on fire. The traffic jam was cleared after two hours during which some passing vehicles were also targeted by the residents.
