A lawyer for difficult cases
An exchange of witty banter set the mood when senior advocate Kapil Sibal began his argument before Chief Justice of India (CJI) T S Thakur during a hearing of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) versus Lodha Committee case in the Supreme Court on Thursday.
Starting his arguments after severe criticism from the Lodha Committee and amicus curiae Gopal Subramaniam over alleged financial irregularities by the cricket board, Sibal, who was representing the BCCI, said, "I am on a difficult terrain". The CJI retorted, "You are hired for difficult terrains. Easy cases don't need you, Mr Sibal."
