Qadri was also quick to tip his hat to D J Butt, the maestro behind the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)'s coveted sound system. During his speech, while responding to the interior minister's allegations against the marchers, Qadri declared: "You have Gullu Butts and Billu Butts, not us." He was referring to, respectively, a ruling party activist who had attacked his party's vehicles and another who had attacked a PTI leader in Multan. At this, Imran Khan muttered, "We have D J Butt," to thunderous applause from the crowd. Not to be left behind, Qadri then invented his own name for the legendary sound man, asking the crowd, "Do you know what DJ Butt means? 'D' stands for decent, 'J' for just, B for Butt".
