En route his first BRICS summit in Brazil, Narendra Modi's plans have gone awry - thanks to the ongoing FIFA World Cup. Modi was slated to meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel and even arranged a stopover in Berlin for that purpose. But with Germany decimating Brazil in the semi-final, Merkel made sure that she would be in Rio de Janeiro to watch her country face Argentina in the final. So while Modi will be in Berlin on Sunday night, Merkel will be catching all the excitement in Brazil.
