Never the twain shall meet?

Reacting to reports that a Bharatiya Janata Party media team is preparing a proposal to merge Rajya Sabha TV and Lok Sabha TV, a source likened it to a merger of the state of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Rajya Sabha TV is headed by Rajya Sabha Chairman M Hamid Ansari, while Lok Sabha TV is headed by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan. Ansari, the vice-president of India, has resisted moves to merge the two channels. His term ends in August 2017.
