Sanjay Pathak, a rich Congress member of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, is the talk of local political circles. Not just for crossing the floor to the Bharatiya Janata Party citing "ill-treatment" by his former party but for the mega-programme he is organising in his home seat of Katni for his supporters. To this end, he has placed huge orders for saffron scarves to give them to his supporters in place of the Congress tricolour. "He is, in fact, not organising the programme to mark the celebration of joining BJP but organising it to perform 'Dal Badal Samskar' [a cultural event to celebrate changing parties] for his supporters," a senior Congress leader quipped.
