The letter vs the spirit

It is the spirit that matters, not the letter, right? Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani may have rubbished reports suggesting that CBSE schools have been asked to remain open on December 25 to celebrate "Good Governance Day", but Business Standard is in possession of a copy of the letter addressed to the deputy commissioner of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) signed by the NVS commissioner listing out a range of activities for students to mark the occasion in its "true spirit". In the letter, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, whose birthday happens to be the reason for the celebration, has been spelled as Atal Bihari "Bajpai".
