Unity in diversity

Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi described his experience of paying homage to Jawaharlal Nehru at his samadhi, Shantivana, while addressing partymen at an event to mark the former prime minister's 125th birth anniversary on Saturday. Gandhi said although there were 150 schoolchildren singing hymns at the samadhi, their different voices created a mellifluous harmony. This, he said, was reflective of the Congress where everyone was free to air his or her views as opposed to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, whose ideology was to make everyone sing the same tune in one voice.
