After the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance's debacle in the Bihar Assembly polls, there is talk that call drops were a key reason for its defeat in the state. Even before the results were declared, Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad was referred to as the "call drop minister". On Tuesday, the ministry sent out a detailed note on call drops. The note did not have anything new to offer: it was only a repetition of what had been stated before. It said that resolving the issue of call drops was a continuous process. One can only theorise about the timing of releasing such a note to the media.
