SP candidate expelled for calling Mulayam 'budda'
Party general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav said Maharaj Singh Dhangar would be the new candidate for the Agra City seat
Mulayam Singh
The Samajwadi Party has expelled its Lok Sabha candidate here, Sarika Baghael, and her husband Devendra for calling party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav a "budda" (old).
Party general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav said Maharaj Singh Dhangar would be the new candidate for the Agra City seat.
Devendra Baghael had visited a traffic police office Friday afternoon. During a row with an official, he insisted that auto-rickshaws should be allowed to ply on the Mahatma Gandhi Road.
This is when he referred to Mulayam Singh Yadav in a derogatory manner.
Within hours, the Samajwadi Party hit back. A stunned Devendr Baghael said he would remain loyal to Mulayam Singh Yadav.
