Taxing time for MLAs?

Analysis of income-tax and PAN details of MLAs in the five Assembly elections just gone by

• A total of 186 MLAs (23 per cent), of the 812 MLAs analysed, have declared they have never filed income-tax returns. They include 60 per cent of MLAs from Kerala, followed by 20 per cent from West Bengal, and 14 per cent from Tamil Nadu
   
• 49 MLAs have not even given PAN details
