Driver of a mini lorry was killed and 12 Ayappa devotees injured in a collision between the vehicle and a bus at Madukkarai on the city outskirts today.
The bus, carrying 47 devotees from Bhavani in Erode District, was proceeding to the hill shrine of Sabarimala and the mini lorry was coming in the opposite direction, when the mishap occurred, police said.
Lorry driver Mallappa died on the spot and 12 of the devotees sustained minor injuries, they said.
