A man was killed and 8 children were seriously injured today when a private bus rammed into an auto at Malikpur here, police said.
The deceased has been identified as auto driver Raju Mahajan, Pathankot Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rakesh Kaushal said.
The bus driver slipped away from the crime scene, police said.
The auto was carrying eight students, they said, adding all of them have been admitted to civil hospital here where their condition is stated to be serious, police said.
After the incident, local auto drivers gathered at the spot and set fire on the bus and also damaged some other vehicles.
