1 killed in lightning in Jharkhand

A 50-year-old man was today killed after being struck by lightning in East Singhbhum district, police said.

The victim had gone to a nearby pond at Madhopur village, 25 km from here, when he was struck by lightning this afternoon, officer-in-charge of Bodam police station said.

The man was immediately rushed to M G M Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
