10 years RI for rape

A Mahila court today sentenced a

23-year-old man to ten years rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl.

The prosecution case was that on January 21 last year, Bharathy took the 13-year-old girl to an abandoned area at Vellitirupur and raped her.

Delivering the judgment, Mahila Court Judge Sarva Mangala also ordered the convict to pay a Rs 5000 fine.
