A police constable allegedly stabbed a couple to death in Bajrang Wadi area of the city last night, police said here today.
Kamlesh Mehta posted at 'B' division police station allegedly stabbed Bhupat Terraiya and his wife Gunwanti last night, the police said.
The couple reportedly used to quarrel with Kamlesh Mehta's mother Manjuben, the police said.
"Last night the couple had heated arguments with Manuben and fed up with the routine quarrel, Kamlesh Mehta attacked the couple with a knife and injured them seriously," the police said.
"Bhupat died while being taken to a private hospital, while his wife Gunwanti died at a civil hospital after brief treatment," the police said.
Kamlesh, who fled after attacking the couple, later surrendered before the Special Operations Group (SOG) who handed him over to the 'B' division police station, the police said.
