18 held for 'gambling' inside five-star hotel

At-least 18 people were arrested for allegedly gambling inside a five-star hotel in suburban Vakola, police said today.

Acting on a tip-off, sleuths of unit-8 of the crime branch raided a room inside the hotel on March 4 night, said DCP Vinay Rathod.

18 people, who were plying 'teen-patti' (gambling), were arrested and Rs 6.61 lakh in cash and Rs 3.24 lakh worth plastic coins were seized from them, the officer said.

A case has been registered and a probe was on, said police.
