2 detonators, 1 firearm found in Belpahari

The security forces unearthed two detonators and one improvised fire arm at Belpahari area in West Midnapore district today.

A senior police officer said the forces dug up the detonators, placed under a culvert, and the firearm, lying nearby, during the raid.

Some wood cutters had tipped off the police after seeing wire jutting out of a culvert.

The officer said it was too premature to say if the detonators were in any way related to any plan to disrupt the assembly elections slated next month.
