A 27-year-old man was today killed after being knocked down by a train at an unmanned level crossing in Bihar's Madhubani district, leading to agitated locals briefly blockading the rail stretch.
The incident occurred when Jainagar-bound Garib Rath train ran over the motorcyclist who was trying to pass through the unmanned level crossing gate number 25 at Maina Patti village under Khajauli police station area of the district, Jainagar GRP officer in-charge Srikant Jha said.
The deceased has been identified as Bablu Yadav (27), a resident of Maina Patti village of the district, Jha said, adding the body was sent for post mortem.

The train after hitting the youth proceeded to its destination for Jainagar in Madhubani district, GRP official said.
Agitated villagers blocked the railway track, thus disrupting the train service on the line, he said, adding that Swatantrata Senani Express, which got delayed for hours due to blockade, could resume its journey to Delhi after the intervention of railway officials.
