: Two Elephants from two temples in Mannargudi and Tiruvaiaru towns were sent to a rehabilitation centre at Thelmapatti on the banks of Bhavani river in Coimbatore district.
The two pachyderms 'Sengamalam' from Rajagopalswami temple in Mannargudi and 'Dharmambal' from Iyarapar temple in Tiruvaiaru were sent by lorry to the rehabilitation center, organised by the state Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department,
Earlier special poojas were held before the elephants were sent to the rehabilitaiton centre.
HR&CE Joint Commissioner Kumaradurai and Umadevi, Assistant commissioner, were present on the occassion.
