A mother and son were killed and 12 others injured today in a collision between a minibus and truck near Purani Bazar locality under Sakri police station area in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, a police officer said.
The mishap took place as a speeding minibus rammed into a stationary truck from behind, Sakri police station in-charge Sanjay Kumar said.
A woman and her four year-old son died on the spot, while around dozen persons suffered injuries, he said.

The deceased have been identified as Meera Devi (35) and her four year-old son Santosh Kumar, the police officer said, adding the injured have been admitted to Sadar hospital.
The minibus was carrying the members of a an extended family to their native village after the 'tonsuring ceremony' of a child, Kumar said.
