An elderly woman and her daughter-in-law were murdered by unidentified assailants, who looted cash and jewellery from their house in Quarsi area of Aligarh district, police said today.
Shanti Sharma (75) and Shashi Sharma (52) were allegedly strangulated to death. The assailants forcible entered their house and looted over Rs seven lakh cash and jewellery, they said.
The victims were alone in the house when the incident took place.
Police is probing the matter. No arrests have so far been made.
