3 girls drown in Bhima river

Three girls who went to draw water drowned in Bhima River at Gubbewad village in the district in the early hours of today, police said.

Bhagyshri, Mahananda and Bhagya, all aged 12 to 14, were caught in deep waters and drowned.

However, three more girls escaped as they did not venture into the river after knowing the water level is deep, police said.
