A fugitive and two of his accomplices were today arrested in connection with the recent attack on deputy Superintendent of Kapurthala jail, police said.
Acting on a tip-off that Sukhi Bidhipuria, a fugitive from Amritsar Jail, was hiding in the house of one of his aides in Sant Nagar area here, police raided the spot at around 1 AM, a senior police official said.
During the search operation, the trio opened fire on the police team, which retaliated in self-defence and following a gun battle Sukhi was arrested, he said.

Police also caught hold of Sukha Bhau and one more gangster who were convicted in a murder case, police said.
One policeman, assistant sub-inspector Jagdev Singh, was injured in the encounter, they added.
