52-year-old farmer kills self in UP after crop damage

Apparently traumatised over crop loss, a 52-year-old farmer today allegedly committed suicide in Mirhachi area here.

Baran Singh went to his field this morning after last night's rains and saw his damaged crop, police said, adding that later he returned home in Rafipurchati village and hanged himself.

Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ajit Kumar said that the body has been sent for post mortem examination and compensation would be provided to his family after the report comes.
