A 52-year-old man was killed and his son severely injured after their car rammed into a pole in the Cantt area here, police said today.
Zafar Azmi, a tannery technician at Jajmau and his son met with an accident after their car lost control and hit a pole near the Golf Club area yesterday, leading to Azmi's death and severely injuring his son, police said.
The car had shredded into pieces after the impact of the accident, they added.
The father-son duo was taken to a hospital, where the doctors declared Azmi dead, police said, adding, the son is being treated.
The family of the deceased informed the police that the duo was preparing for the wedding of Azmi's daughter slated for today.
The body of the deceased has been sent for postmortem, police added.
