6 killed in separate road accidents in Jammu

Six persons were killed and five others injured in three separate accidents in the Jammu region since last night, police said today.

In an accident on Mansar-Samba road in Samba district today, three persons were killed and two others injured when a bus collided with a matador, a police officer said.

The bodies of the deceased were recovered and handed over to their family members, the officer said, adding that the injured have been hospitalised.

In another mishap, one unidentified middle-aged person died on the spot when a truck hit him on a flyover in Jammu city today. Police said the body had been shifted to the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital mortuary for identification.
 

Meanwhile, two brothers were killed and three others of a family were injured when a truck in which they were travelling skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Bishnah belt of Jammu district late last night, police said.

The accident took place when the family was returning home after attending a wedding, they said, adding that the injured have been hospitalised.
