60 day ban on use of Maanja thread in kites

: Prohibitory orders under Section 144 have been promulgated by police for a 60 day period, beginning today, banning the use of 'maanja' thread in kites.

Besides, the order would also a ban on sale, manufacture, store, import and dealers of the maanja thread, a police release said.

It would be in force from today to December 5, both days inclusive, it said.
