Over 600 cartons of smuggled liquor worth Rs 60 lakh were seized by the excise department from Titoli checkpost in Shamli, police said today.
Excise officials had intercepted a vehicle in the district yesterday and seized 613 cartons that were allegedly smuggled from Haryana to Uttar Pradesh, District excise officer Sudhir Kumar said.
The driver of the vehicle escaped from the spot, he added.
