An FIR was registered against
eight persons for allegedly murdering a 35-year-old man over an election-related rivalry in Kyar village here, police said today.
The FIR was yesterday registered on the directives of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), SHO of Jalesar police station, Dinesh Kumar said.
The victim's father, Kanchan Singh, complained that on February 28 his son, Satendra, had gone to market when the accused Ramkhiladi, Tilloo, Radhey Shyam, Sumer Banwari, Sanjay and others beat him to death here, he said.
Later, they dumped the body in a nearby field here, Kumar said.
No arrest has been made so far, the SHO said, adding, investigations are underway.
