The DCP said the accused was produced before a local magisterial court. But it was not known till late in the evening whether the court would send the old man to jail.
The police said the old man was nurturing a grudge against Parvati, a land broker, over a protracted land dispute leading litigations in courts for over three decades. While the matter is still pending disposal in the Supreme Court, Purna Chandra apparently got furious and fired at Parvati.
