A 13-year-old-boy has allegedly committed suicide by hanging in his house near Tirupur after being reportedly harassed by some teachers and students, police said today.
The boy returned home last evening from school and shut himself in a room.
Since the boy did not open the door for long, his parents and neighbours broke open the door, only to find his body hanging from the ceiling by a rope, police said.
Police recovered a letter purportedly written by the boy, which stated that two teachers had complained about him to his parents over phone leading him to take his life.
The letter also said some classmates were teasing him, police said.
Even as police began an inquiry, parents and relatives staged a demonstration seeking action against the teachers.
