Abandoned newborn rescued

A newborn girl was found abandoned today in the bushes near the Sector-31 bypass here.

The girl was spotted by the locals, who had reached their after hearing her cries and later informed the police.

The baby, just a day old, was taken to the B K hospital and medical officer Dr O P Mehta said she was in sound health.

Mehta said she will be kept in the hospital under observation for the next few days.
