The Bombay High Court today granted bail to an alleged hawala operator, an accused in the July 13, 2011 triple bomb blasts.
Justice R C Chavan granted bail to Kawalnayan Pathreja on a bond of Rs 5 lakh and directed him to not leave Delhi and Ghaziabad.
According to ATS, Panthreja, an alleged hawala operator from New Delhi, had delivered Rs 10 lakh to one Shivanandan in Delhi, who was none other than the wanted accused Yasin Bhatkal.
Pathreja, whose bail plea was rejected by a special court in February this year, had contended that he was not part of an organised crime syndicate and had no inkling about Bhatkal brothers and the operations of Indian Mujahideen which orchestrated the blasts.
ATS contended that Pathreja had travelled to Dubai thrice between February and August 2011 and that Rs 10 lakh was used to procure explosives and other materials for the blasts.
On July 13, 2011 three blasts took place at Opera House and Zaveri Bazaar in south Mumbai and at Dadar in central Mumbai, killing 27 people and injuring 127.
