A 16-year-old girl suffered burn injuries when a youth attacked her with acid near Khemaka petrol pump here while she was on her way to tuition classes, police said.
Purnima, a class XII student, was attacked with acid yesterday allegedly by a youth named AjayKumar, they said.
The accused tried to escape after the incident but the locals captured and beat him up before handing him over to the police.
Later on the police took two shopkeepersin custody for were sellingacid.
An FIR has been lodged against the accused.
