A youth was killed when his car rammed into an electricity pole on the BRTS corridor in the Satellite area of the city this morning.
The accident took place when Naman Patel (24), driving an Optra car, lost control near Keshavbaug crossroads ahead of Shivranjani flyover, police said.
"The car climbed the divider which separates BRTS (bus rapid transport system) corridor and the common road. Then it crashed into the metal railing and stopped only after hitting a light pole. Though he was rushed to hospital, he died," said inspector B H Rajgor.

Patel lived with his family at Vaibhav society in Jivrajpark area and worked with his share-broker father.
According to police, Patel drove to the airport today to see off his friend Nikhil Jaiswal. Jaiswal was dropped there by his driver, Suresh Desai.
According Desai, he and Patel left the airport at the same time, but Patel overtook him near Keshavbaug, lost control and hit the pole on the divider.
Inspector Rajgor said CCTV cameras had captured the incident. "We are yet to find out if he was over-speeding. We are taking help of forensic experts," he said.
