Press Trust of India Puducherry
:Opposition AIADMK today demanded that the Centre intervene and bring an end to the ongoing row between Lt Governor Virendra Kataria and Chief Minister N Rangasamy.

The party's local unit secretary A Anbalagan, MLA,said the mutual charges between the two constitutional functionaries had brought the administration to a virtual standstill.

He urged the Home Ministry to depute a high-level committee to go into the current tussle between the Lt Governor and Chief Minister.

(Rangasamy had a few days ago assail Kataria at a function Karaikal for 'standing in the way' of his ministry taking decisions on various matters and in posting or transfer of officials.

The Lt Governor had however issued a rejoinder brushing aside the criticism as 'misstatement' and 'a patent lie'.
