Indian football team skipper Sunil Chhetri today congratulated the Under-16 side for winning the SAFF Championships and said it would act as a motivation for them when they compete next month in the same tournament for the senior team.
"I am really happy for the boys. It's a great feat. I would like to congratulate the entire team and support staff. It also acts as a motivation for us as we play the same Championship in another month's time," Chhetri said.
India beat hosts Nepal 1-0 to lift the championship here today.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) also commended the team's effort.
"The boys make us proud. Youth Development stays on the top of AIFF's priority list," AIFF President Praful Patel said.

"What is extremely satisfying is that all of them are U-15 boys. They were medically tested prior to the championship. AIFF follows a zero tolerance to age-cheating," said AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das.
