More than 50 schools from across the country will vie for top honours in the week-long 43rd KC Mahindra All India Invitation School Regatta at the Rabindra Sarobar lake from June 1 to 6.
The competition will take place in two categories -- fours and double scull -- across Junior (up to Class IX) and Senior (Class X-XII) sections.
However this year the participation would be less than previous years as many rowers are in their respective state camps ahead of the sub-junior Nationals in Bangalore from June 7.

"There will be less participants but there're some rowers who have opted to compete in both the championships," convener Kalyan Sarangi told a news conference today.
He further said the championship serves as a breeding ground for the talented rowers and went on to give the example of Sweta Brahmachari who is representing the country in the Asian Rowing Junior Championship to be held in Wuhan, China from July 4 to 7.
