Aluminium prices inched up by 0.38 per cent to Rs 146.35 per kg in futures trade Friday as speculators raised bets, driven by pick-up in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in September edged higher by 55 paise, or 0.38 per cent to Rs 146.35 per kg in business turnover of 505 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in October was up by 45 paise, or 0.31 per cent to Rs 147.85 per kg in 17 lots.

Analysts said expanding of positions by participants due to uptick in demand from consuming industries in the physical market, mainly attributed the rise in aluminium prices at futures trade.
