Angelina Jolie's ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton has revealed that the actress told him about the double mastectomy surgery before going public.
The actor said his ex-wife made sure he knew about her undergoing a doubt mastectomy so that he wouldn't "freak out", reported Daily Express.
"When you're great friends with somebody like that, you don't want to hear it on the news. She wanted me to know so I wouldn't freak out," the 57-year-old said.
Jolie made the decision to undergo the surgery after it was revealed that she had an 87 per cent chance of developing breast cancer.
Despite Jolie being engaged to Brad Pitt, she has kept a close bond with her ex-husband, who still has great respect for her.
"She makes you a better person. She's an amazing person and makes you the best that you can be," he added.
