Indian Army today kicked off their Independence Day Celebrations with a performance by its Pipe and Drum Bands at the India Gate here.
The Army Pipe Bands from the Madras Regiment, Punjab Regiment, Garwhal Rifles and the Gurkha Rifles played patriotic martial tunes with India Gate as a backdrop.
As a prelude to the Independence Day Celebration, other activities including Know Your Army Exhibitions and Weapon Displays have been planned by the Indian Army at various locations in the National Capital Region.
These events are aimed at increasing public awareness about the Indian Army.
The celebrations will culminate with the Independence Day Parade at Red Fort on August 15.
