Senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar targeted former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan over the Adarsh scam, saying he had to quit because of it.

"Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones at others' houses. If we throw a stone, their (Congress) house will collapse. They should always remember this," Pawar said.

He was addressing a campaign meeting for civic polls, in Nanded district last night.

"You (Congress) should feel ashamed," he added.

"Ashok Chavan was involved in Adarsh scam, as a result of which he had to step down as Chief Minister," Pawar alleged.

"Chavan should tell the masses the reason for his demitting office of Chief Minister," he said.

Pawar alleged as the Chief Minister, Chavan indulged in things that he shouldn't have and that is why he had to quit that post.

The NCP leader has himself faced allegations of large scale corruption in irrigation scam.
