Bhagat, Nandakumar to head committee to draw development plan:

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das Thursday announced that Ashok Bhagat and retired IAS officer T Nandakumar will head the committee which will draw an action plan for the development of the state.

Bhagat is the head of NGO 'Vikas Bharati'.

Addressing a meeting of the State Development Council here, Das said Bhagat and Nandakumar will head the committee to draw an action plan for the next three years for development of the state.

Das said that road map has been underlined as to what contribution Jharkhand would make in the nation building when the country celebrates the 75th Independence Day in 2022.

"Now we have to bring this on the ground together," an official release quoted Das as saying at the State Development Council meeting here.

 

He said that the suggestions received from MPs, MLAs and other representatives during the meeting would find place in the drawing up of action plan for the next three years.

Stating that Jharkhand was created due to regional imbalance, the chief minister said 19 of the 24 districts of the state are in the list of aspirational districts and six among them are the most backward, which have to be brought in the list of developed districts. He added that the government has given Rs 50 crore to these districts.

The chief minister said to double the income of farmers, animal husbandry, horticulture, bamboo cultivation, pisciculture, milk, etc, should be given emphasis.
